Happy Vernal Equinox!

Today’s the day that for northern hemisphere residents, the days start getting longer than the nights.  For southerners, alas, it is the reverse.  But this time we have something cool to look at: pictures of the first solar eclipse of 2015!  I’ll post with more later, but straight off I wanted to share this video from EUMETSAT, which sits over Europe and Africa on the geostationary ring, showing the Moon’s shadow passing over the arctic and subarctic today:
