Moody Crescent Ceres

There’s something special about crescent worlds.  Here’s the latest look at Ceres from the Dawn spacecraft:

At this range, the dwarf planet’s lumpiness is visually apparent, as is the surprisingly flat quality of its craters; this is a relatively young surface, still somewhat squishy (in a geologic sense) and able to somewhat flatten the ridges carved out by impactors.  What more will Dawn learn over the next few months?  Time will tell.  😉
