Pluto’s features are becoming visible!

Some very interesting areas of light and dark (“albedo features”) are coming into view, including some remarkable differences between light and dark areas and what looks like a prominent stripe across one hemisphere.  Charon’s surface features are beginning to show themselves as well.  This sequence is deconvoluted to enhance detail, so some of what we see *may* be false; but most of it is probably real.  Pretty cool!  This sequence was taken over several days, starting at 56 million km and ending at 48.5 million km.  (That’s right: in less than a week, New Horizons covered 7.5 million km.)
