New Horizons has survived its pass of Pluto!

The signal, sent over four and a half hours ago, has arrived on Earth.  The first data is very basic: spacecraft is healthy, temperature is good, RTG is producing the same power it was before the encounter, propulsion is healthy, and, perhaps most encouraging of all, the computer has stored the expected amount of data.  There are still lots of activities for New Horizons to carry out as it recedes from Pluto, but it will also be downlinking some of the first bits of imagery and other data as the opportunity arises.  As soon as I can, I will post pictures.  😉
