A*5s This Week: Atlas V and Ariane V

Yesterday, Ariane V launched MSG 4, the final second-generation Meteosat weather satellites for Eumetsat and Star One C4, a Brazilian TV satellite for Embratel Star One, to provide service to the Americas.

And Atlas V launched GPS 2F-10, the latest element in the large USAF-operated GPS constellation that is the premier provider of navigational services worldwide.

Both vehicles were completely successful, a nice change from the string of launch failures that have bedeviled the industry lately.  Both Ariane V and Atlas V boast excellent track records that remain strong today.
