Waiting for Series 9: All Titles Are Revealed!!!

The BBC has announced all the titles for this season of Doctor Who, and boy are they intriguing (listed here with their writers):

  1. The Magician’s Apprentice – Stephen Moffat
  2. The Witch’s Familiar – Stephen Moffat
  3. Under the Lake – Toby Whithouse
  4. Before the Flood – Toby Whithouse
  5. The Girl Who Died – Jamie Matheson & Steven Moffat
  6. The Woman Who Lived – Catherine Tregenna
  7. The Zygon Invasion – Peter Harness & Steven Moffat
  8. The Zygon Inversion – Peter Harness & Steven Moffat
  9. Sleep No More – Mark Gatiss
  10. Face the Raven – Sarah Dollard
  11. Heaven Sent – Stephen Moffat
  12. Hell Bent – Stephen Moffat

These look very intriguing, and there are definitely at least four two-parters in there — though we know 5-6 go together, so are those a two-parter?  “Sleep No More” and “Face the Raven” are apparently both a bit experimental.  “Sleep No More” is, I think, the “found footage” episode that’s been mentioned, and I think “Face the Raven” is the one that will have a cast of exactly one: Peter Capaldi.  Talk about a test of an actor’s stamina!

The whole thing looks very exciting, and I’m so glad that we now have only FIVE MORE DAYS to wait!  WOOOOOOO!!!!

I’m an on again, off again Doctor Who fan, but I’m a steadfast Sherlock fan. I didn’t realize Stephen Moffat and Mark Gatiss, co-creators of Sherlock, were also involved with the Doctor. No wonder there was talk on the Sherlock blogs about a Doctor Who / Sherlock crossover episode. Wouldn’t that be fun!

    • Yep, they’re really involved in both! It astounds me that they’re able to both pull it off, frankly. But I’m glad they do. 😉

As far as a crossover, yeah, I love crossovers! They’re my guilty pleasure. But I don’t think the BBC will greenlight this one. 😦
