Fly over Norgay Montes

The image dump from New Horizons has only just begun.  It’s still doing post-encounter science, which slows its transmission (for instance, they recently announced preliminary findings from the Charon occultation study — unlike its big neighbor, Charon probably does not have an atmosphere), but starting in September it will be able to spend nearly all of its time downlinking data.  So the fun is just beginning.  😉  In the meantime, NASA released this animation that flies you over Norgay Montes (named for Tenzing Norgay, one of the first people to reach the summit of Mount Everest).  It’s lovely:
